Students of 24 Egyptian Universities participate in the Summer School for Space Science
With collaboration of the Egyptian Space Agency "ESA", the events of the Summer School for Space Science have been launched today by participation of students from 24 Egyptian universities at the branch of Benha University in Obour city. It is worth mentioning that events have been launched under the auspices of Dr. Gamal El Saeed, the University President and Dr. Mohamed El-Koosy, the Executive Director of ESA. El Saeed said that more than 2000 students at the level of the Egyptian Universities had applied for the Summer School and 400 of them have been chosen to attend the training courses indicating that the University has provided all of its capabilities in cooperation with ESA to host the summer training courses. He said also that all precautionary measures have been taken by disinfecting and sterilizing all halls in which students will be trained, adding that the University Hostel in Shubra has received the delegations of universities participating in the events. In the same context; Prof. Dr. Nasser El Gizawy, the University Vice-president for Post Graduate Studies and Researches ' Affairs said that the Summer School in the field of science and technology of space and satellite aims to spread knowledge of space science among Egyptian university students, to link their academic studies with practical reality.
Benha University opens the Summer School for Space Science tomorrow
Prof. Dr. Gamal El Saeed, Benha University President said that events of the Summer School for Space Science will be opened tomorrow at Obour Campus with collaboration of the Egyptian Space Agency.
He said also that all precautionary measures have been taken by disinfecting and sterilizing all halls in which students will be trained, adding that the University Hostel in Shubra has received the delegations of universities participating in the events.
In the same context; Prof. Dr. Nasser El Gizawy, the University Vice-president for Post Graduate Studies and Researches ' Affairs said that the Summer School in the field of science and technology of space and satellite aims to spread knowledge of space science among Egyptian university students, to link their academic studies with practical reality.
El Gizawy added that students of 24 Egyptian universities take part in this summer school, alongside 35 students from the Faculties of "Engineering - Computers and Artificial Intelligence" at Benha University.
El Gizawy said also that the theoretical part of the summer school started via distance learning on the videoconference platform "Zoom" and the practical classes will start tomorrow at Obour Campus by dividing the applicants into six different training groups, and each trainee will be required to submit a practical project that will be evaluated by professionals in that field.
BU hosts a Meeting for EOA throughout Zoom Application
Prof. Dr. Nasser El Gizawy, Benha University Vice-president for Post Graduate Studies and Researches ' Affairs said that the Department of Orthopedic at the Faculty of Medicine has organized the monthly medical meeting of the Egyptian Orthopedic Association "EOA" throughout Zoom application which discussed 20 different cases of orthopedic diseases and surgery. It is worth mentioning that the meeting has been hold under the patron of Prof. Dr. Gamal El Saeed, the University President and attended by Prof. Dr. Gamal Eladawy, the Former Minister of Health and the Emeritus Professor at the Faculty of Medicine; Prof. Dr. Gamal Hosni, the Head of EOA; and Prof. Dr. Mustafa Elkady, the Dean of the Faculty.
CSC grants the Distinguished Student Award 2019 to a Researcher from Benha University
Prof. Dr. Nasser El Gizawy, Benha University Vice-president for Post Graduate Studies and Researches ' Affairs said that the China Scholarship Council (CSC) has granted the Distinguished Student Award 2019 to the Researcher/ Ibrahim Khalifa, the Lecturer at the Department of Food Industries at the Faculty of Agriculture in Moshtohor. It is worth mentioning that Khalifa had been granted a scholarship to get the PhD from Central China University upon cooperation with Benha University in the duration from 2016 to 2019.
BU maintains Its World Ranking in Times 2021
Prof. Dr. Gamal El Saeed, Benha University President said that the Times Higher Education World University Rankings has announced for the new ranking of 2021 indicating that the University has occupied the rank 801 – 1000 among 527 universities in the world and 21 universities in Egypt at 4th group. Prof. Dr. Nasser El Gizawy, the University Vice-president for Post Graduate Studies and Researches ' Affairs said that according to that ranking, the University has maintained its world place occupied in 2020 with improvement in its performance at the citation and teaching, as well as the international outlook comparing with the previous year.
Qalyoubia Governor and BU President open and lay the Foundation Stone of a New Projects
Major General Abdel Hamid El Hagan, Qalyoubia Governor and Prof. Dr. Gamal El Saeed, Benha University President has opened today a number of new projects and facilities. They also have inspected and laid the foundation stone of other projects, in addition to the construction of the new specialized hospital within BU participation in the Governorate's national day and its celebration for the 15th anniversary of its establishment.
In this regard, El Hagan said that the relationship between the Governorate and the University is close, and the University is its home of expertise, pointing out that the Governorate is ready to provide all support to BU in order to present its scientific and service message to the people of Qalyoubia Governorate.
He also praised the size of the projects that are being built on the BU's land to serve the people of the Governorate, confirming that the University has expertise and a strong infrastructure that would develop the educational, research and community service process.
In the same context, El Saeed expressed for his happiness and the family of BU in participating the people of Qalyoubia in their celebrations of the Governorate's national day.
He also congratulated Qalyoubia Governor, and the people of the Governorate on the occasion of celebrating the 152nd National Day, confirming that BU with all its capabilities, scholars, experts and researchers, is at the service of Qalyoubia Governorate.
Benha University jumps 109 Places in Webometrics, July 2020
Prof. Dr. Gamal El Saeed, Benha University President said the University has jumped 109 places to be 1613 on Webometrics Ranking of World Universities in the frame of the University's policy to achieve further progress in the file of international classifications.
El Saeed pointed out that progress came as a result for the concerted efforts of all the University's employees, including faculty members, their assistants, young researchers and administrators at various levels to achieve distinguished position for Benha University at the global, African and Arab levels, in addition 70 public, private, and non-profit educational institutions in Egypt which subject to the international assessments in this classification.
In the same context, Prof. Dr. Nasser El Gizawy, the University Vice-president for Post Graduate Studies and Researches' Affairs said that success reflects the university's keenness to continue excellence in this classification with its various editions since 2011, adding the University has jumped 109 places in the world ranking July, 2020 comparing with the previous edition of January, 2020 to be 1613 among 30 thousand of higher education institutions.
It is worth mentioning that the University ranked 22 among 12,188 Arab universities, 25 among 1902 African universities by jumping 3 places, 7 among 70 Egyptian public, private and non-profit universities included in that classification.
On the other hand, El Gizawy said the University has jumped 261 places on Openness indicator as well as 45 places on Research Excellence indicator comparing with the previous edition of January, 2020 which reflects the success of the University's programs to support the scientific researches.
Prof. Dr. Shady El Mashad, the Director of the University E-portal said the University jumped 97 places on Presence indicator to be 1191 among 30 thousand world universities and jumped 76 places on Impact indicator to be 4893 comparing with the edition of January, 2020.
El Gizawy: 5 Scientific Researches on Coronavirus Published in Benha University
Prof. Dr. Nasser El Gizawy, Benha University Vice-president for Post Graduate Studies and Researches' Affairs said the pandemic of the novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) has put health care systems around the world under unprecedented and increasing pressure, according to the World Health Organization "WHO" statements.
He said all research institutions around the world have started to study the virus and its effects from various aspects, so Benha University has launched databases to register the intellectual production of its faculty members and researchers related to the study of Coronavirus, adding there are 5 scientific papers have been registered until now.
One of the registered scientific paper has been published by Dr. Muhammad Loay, from the faculty of computers and artificial intelligence under the title of " Within the deficiency of the COVID-19 dataset for X-ray".
Other research under the title of " Psychological problems caused by the pandemic of Coronavirus (Covied-19)" has been presented by Amal Ibrahim and Mohamed Kamal, the researchers from the faculty of education.
Also Dr. Ibrahim Abdel Ghaffar and others from the faculty of agriculture have published a research including the use of Anthocyanins with a specific structure to be anti-COVID-19 natural active ingredients.
In the same context, Dr. Reda Elbadawy, from the faculty of medicine has published a research under the title of " a study on the reasons of the difference in the increase of the number of the infected between reality and expected".
The 5th research has been published by Dr. Samah Elrafey, from the faculty of nursing under the title of "Symptoms of stress, anxiety and depression in a sample of the population in the first stage of Corona virus pandemic".

Prof. Dr. Nasser El Gizawy, Benha University Vice-president for Post Graduate Studies and Researches ' Affairs said that Prof. Dr. Gamal El Saeed, the University President has approved to open the applying for the new course of International Publication and Citations Rewards, July 2020 which will be started from Tuesday, August 04, 2020 for one month He added that the papers accepted in this course are those that were published during the years 2019 and 2020, and have not been submitted during the previous courses and the number of citations will be calculated based on the last 5 years, according to the declared calculations of faculty member on Google Scholar; referring that anyone who has a Google Scholar account for paper that does not belong to him or who submitted research previously paid financial rewards for it in previous courses, will be blocked from the rewards of the University 's programs for researches support.
