The Unit seeks to serve the community and make a meaningful contribution to achieving comprehensive and sustainable development within the internal and external environments of the Faculty and the University, thereby contributing to the development of appropriate mechanisms for addressing local environmental problems and improving the surrounding environment.

Mission of the Community Services and Environmental Affairs Unit

The Unit is committed to achieving constructive and continuous cooperation among the Faculty, the University, and all community stakeholders to address development challenges and achieve comprehensive and sustainable development within the internal and external environments of the Faculty and the University. This is accomplished by raising environmental awareness among individuals and directing scientific research toward serving the community and developing the environment.

Objectives of the Community Services and Environmental Affairs Unit

Through its activities, the Unit aims to:

• Raise environmental and cultural awareness of community and environmental issues.

• Build bridges of cooperation between the Faculty and local, regional, and international institutions and organizations.

• Develop plans for applied research conducted for external entities in accordance with their needs, with the aim of marketing and benefiting from the results of such research.

• Conduct studies addressing political, economic, and social issues that contribute to serving the community and developing the environment.

• Organize conferences that reflect the Faculty's and the University's engagement with community issues and their commitment to providing all necessary resources for environmental development.

• Publish various materials highlighting the Faculty's activities in the field of community service and environmental development.

• Organize student caravans to raise environmental awareness in the villages of the governorate.

• Organize an annual Employment Forum aimed at providing employment opportunities for graduates and enabling public and private institutions, organizations, and companies to learn about the nature of the Faculty's graduates' education across various specializations and how they are academically and practically prepared for the labor market. The forum also provides outstanding graduates with opportunities to conduct personal interviews with representatives of entities offering potential employment opportunities.

• Develop plans for professional and technical training programs and skills-development programs in accordance with labor market needs.

• Provide scientific, psychological, and sports support for students with special needs and develop their skills in accordance with labor market requirements.

• Strengthen information and communication systems between the Faculty and civil society stakeholders.

• Promote participation and cooperation between the Faculty and educational and research institutions and civil society organizations at the local, regional, and international levels.

• Establish partnerships and cooperation protocols between the Faculty and local and regional educational and research institutions, as well as government entities that serve the community and contribute to environmental development.

• Encourage the resolution of community problems through the preparation of multidisciplinary applied research.

• Cooperate with other institutions to conduct field and applied research and provide consultations addressing national and regional issues.

• Develop and implement a system for developing and measuring performance in the field of community service and environmental development research.

• Promote and market the Faculty's services in the fields of environmental research and studies, consultancy, and training.
