It gives me great pleasure to welcome our new and returning students to the Department of French at the Faculty of Arts. Our department plays a pivotal role in empowering students to master foreign languages—specifically French—while advancing the translation profession through our specialized curricula.

The department’s primary focus lies in the quality of education and scientific research. We aim to prepare and qualify our graduates by enhancing their learning capabilities and equipping them with the knowledge necessary to become future leaders. In alignment with labor market requirements, the department emphasizes the mastery of linguistic skills, translation theory, and its practical applications to and from Arabic.

Through a diverse range of curricular and extracurricular activities, we focus on training students to refine their oral and written proficiency, communication skills, and teamwork. These activities facilitate the linguistic immersion and cultural emulation essential for language acquisition and understanding the target society—all while maintaining a proud connection to their mother tongue as a bridge between diverse global civilizations.

We take great pride in our distinguished faculty, whose extensive academic and practical expertise has been instrumental in developing the educational process.
