Results of the International Publishing and Citations Award (July 2026 Cycle)
Under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Nasser El-Gizawy, President of Benha University, Prof. Dr. Jihan Abdel-Hadi, Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research Affairs, announced that the Technical Committee for the Evaluation of Academic Research has released the results of the International Publishing and Citations Award for the July 2026 cycle. This initiative aligns with the university’s strategy to enhance scientific research outcomes and encourage faculty members to publish in prestigious international journals.
The Vice President noted that a total of 594 research papers were submitted during this cycle across 13 faculties: Agriculture, Commerce, Computers and Artificial Intelligence, Medicine, Veterinary Medicine, Physical Therapy, Science, Engineering at Benha, Engineering at Shoubra, Arts, Sports Sciences, Nursing, and Applied Arts.
High-Impact Publications: 294 papers were published in Q1 journals—representing 49.5% of the total submissions—underscoring the high quality of the university’s research output.
Journal Quartile Breakdown: Submissions included 165 Q2 papers, 70 Q3 papers, and 38 Q4 papers.
Books & Citations: The cycle also evaluated one book and 10 book chapters published by renowned international publishing houses. Additionally, 157 faculty members applied for the Citations Award via Google Scholar.
Appeals Process & Deadlines

Applicants submitting an appeal must include their full name, faculty, and the specific research paper ID (as indicated in the published results sheet). Incomplete appeals will not be processed, and no appeals will be accepted after the deadline. Final results will be re-announced following the review of all submitted appeals.
Disqualification Criteria
Applicants will be placed on a restriction list and barred from future university research support funds if they:
Include unauthorized publications on their Google Scholar profile.
Submit inaccurate data or re-apply with research that previously received financial awards.
Submit a blank declaration form or fail to list all internal co-authors (with explicit identification of enrolled Benha University Master's and Ph.D. students who are not faculty members or teaching assistants).

Important Mandate for Future Cycles
Starting with the January 2027 cycle (applicable to papers published after July 2026), referencing at least two citations from articles published in Benha University journals is a mandatory prerequisite to qualify for the bi-annual International Publishing Award (January and July cycles).
