  1. Providing security and safety for the college's human resources (faculty members, students, employees, and workers).

  2. Planning and implementing preventive measures to secure college facilities and individuals against fires, disasters, and crises.

  3. Achieving security and safety standards.

  4. Promoting a culture of crisis management, raising awareness among college personnel, and training them on how to respond when crises occur.

  5. Predicting potential crises that may occur on the college campus and identifying mechanisms to prevent them.

  6. Reviewing periodic reports addressing crises and disasters, ways to overcome them, and how to benefit from them.

  7. Establishing a Crisis and Disaster Management Unit.

Role and Tasks of the College Crisis and Disaster Management Committee

The role and tasks of the Crisis and Disaster Management Committee are determined according to the National Crisis Management System and are divided into three stages as follows:

First: Pre-Crisis / Emergency Event / Disaster Stage

  1. Analyzing the internal environment.

  2. Analyzing the external environment.

  3. Planning (forecasting/predicting) crises and disasters expected to occur in the short, medium, and long term.

  4. Preparing plans and developing scenarios to prevent crises and address disasters.

  5. Taking preventive measures to prevent or mitigate crises or disasters.

  6. Preparing to deal with events, such as training personnel and maintaining equipment.

  7. Promoting cultural awareness of disaster and crisis management and conducting training workshops to enhance the level and efficiency of college personnel in this field.

  8. Developing monitoring and early warning mechanisms for crisis and disaster management.

  9. Equipping an operations room for crisis and disaster management with appropriate communication devices.

Second: Response and Containment Stage

  1. Assessing losses among individuals and facilities.

  2. Rehabilitation and reconstruction (the activity resumption stage).

  3. Developing methods of protection against potential future risks.

  4. Evaluating the measures taken to address the crisis or disaster and identifying lessons learned.

  5. Documenting the event and providing the necessary recommendations and proposals to the relevant authorities for their benefit.

  6. Developing and updating plans in accordance with emerging developments to achieve better crisis management.
